Guardiola: Bayern Injury Problems Already Departments
Munich – Bayern Munich’s list grew longer injured by the fall of Mehdi Benatia. The storm that hit Bayern’s injury started to make Pep Guardiola worried.
Benatia got injured while playing for Bayern in the DFB Pokal match against Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday (08/04/2015) then. As a result of the injury, Benatia called to be sidelined for two to four weeks.
Benatia’s injury adds to the long list of players Bayern should enter the treatment room. Previously, there Bastian Schweinsteiger, David Alaba, Arjen Robben, Javi Martinez, and Tom Starke to be pulled because of an injury.
“We had a problem and now we have more problems. Our situation is very critical,” Guardiola said as quoted by Reuters.
“I never faced a situation with a lot of injuries. But we are here. We will fight until Akhi for our target, for our club,” he added.
Franck Ribery who has been sidelined for five weeks with an ankle injury is back training with Bayern squad. But the French winger was still doubtful when Bayern visit to the headquarters of Porto in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals on April 15 next.
“I still do not know if he could come away with us to Porto on Monday,” said Guardiola.
Bayern will entertain Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga continued on Saturday (04/11/2015) night. Four days later, Die Roten will play the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Champions League against Porto.
