Porto coach: New Bayern Win Over Half Way
Poto – a 3-1 victory over Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League quarter is considered only half way by Porto coach, Julen Lopetegui. Porto should be able to keep the weight of the match in Munich next week.
Victory at the Estadio do Dragao, Thursday (16/4) pm dawn, the Ricardo Quaresma marked two goals in the first 10 minutes of the match. Bayern could narrow the score by Thiago Alcantara in the 28th minute, but Porto widen the advantage again through Jackson Martinez in the 65th minute.
Porto turns away to Bayern headquarters on 21 April. The Portuguese giants will be without two of their flagship fullback, Danilo and Alex Sandro. In fact, during this Danilo and Alex Sandro quite crucial in helping Porto attack.
“The match in Munich later would be different and we will be without two of our best players (due to accumulation), so we had to find a solution,” said Lopetegui in the official UEFA website.
“The match was going to be difficult, we are only half way to face one of the strongest teams in the history of Bayern.”
Porto itself is unbeaten since the group phase. After four wins and two draws in Group H, they drew 1-1 and 4-0 win over FC Basel in the round knock-out phase.
Lopetegui was called, his team will try to go as far as possible in the Champions League.
“We’re not dreaming, we just try hard to look as good as possible, in all areas of our game, whether it’s the back or the front lines,” said the Spaniard.
