Stephen Keshi Back Train Nigerian national team
Abuja – Nigeria apparently have not been able to turn away from Stephen Keshi. After firing Keshi some time ago, now ‘Super Eagles’ back the services of a coach who led them to win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
Keshi itself was sacked after failing to bring Nigeria to qualify for the 2015 African Nations Cup finals because of the country defending champion status. Whereas in the 2014 World Cup, Keshi successfully drove Nigeria to the last 16.
In the last two years alternating Keshi is the national team of Nigeria. After the retreat because of late payment of salaries after the African Cup event in 2013, Keshi soon returned handle the team.
The same thing happened again this year when Keshi agreed to accept a two-year contract offered the Nigeria Football Federation (NFA) to bring the team to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2018 World Cup.
“This job is too large to be borne Keshi alone. It must be passed together. We have to do this as a team,” Keshi said as quoted by Soccernet.
Keshi not only successfully brought Nigeria to become champion at the time so the coach, because in 1994 he was the captain of the team as last won the African Cup. He also became the first black coach in the last 20 years that is able to bring his country become champions of Africa.
